This previously required you to open the Dropbox app first to grab a link to share. The latest update to the iOS Facebook Messenger app streamlines the process by allowing you to drop any file into a chat just by tapping the ‘…’ button....

Facebook is testing a video dating app called Sparked, as reported by The Verge. The app, which requires a Facebook account, is developed by the company’s NPE team. Last week, we reported about a new app Facebook was developing called Hotline, a Clubhouse competitor that combines Instagram Live features. Sparked is described as “video dating with kind people.” According to The Verge, the app “promises no public profiles, no swiping, no DMs, and that it’s free to use....

As announced on the Facebook for Business news blog, the social network has added new features in an update to their mobile applications today. Opera is the only well-known browser that Facebook could actually acquire. According to Pocket Lint’s sources, Facebook is planning to buy Opera Software, the company that makes the Opera browser. The browser which its makers say has 200 million users and is the fifth most used one last week, according to StatCounter. Buying Opera Software would help Facebook kill two birds with one stone –- Opera has a very good mobile browser....

A new video for Fallout 76 highlights some of the game’s most hilarious and insane glitches. While it’s not unusual for a new game to come equipped with a few bugs shortly after its release, the latest Fallout game required a patch on its opening day that was larger than its initial download. Facebook today has updated its desktop Facebook Live platform with integrated support for screen sharing, a task that previously required the use of third-party software for users. The Next Web first noted of this change with a new “Share Screen” option… To access the new screen sharing functionality, simply head to Facebook Live and look for the “Share Screen” button. Facebook updated its Messenger iOS app today making it easier to send photos and emoji with a few new features. Facebook is deeper integrating Instagram into Messenger, allowing users to attach photos from Instagram albums (in addition to any other album on their iPhone) right in the app. Version 2.6 of the app also makes it easier to send photos and emoji with a new paper clip icon that users can tap from any message....

These days, a lot of people are returning to the world of Fallout 4. This game is pretty old today, but it’s still a lot of fun, and there’s nothing better than going back and creating a completely new character for the first time. Facebook is taking a page out of Apple’s Screen Time playback and rolling out a new Quiet Mode feature to the Facebook app. This feature allows you to set a schedule for when you want to mute notifications from the Facebook app and more. When Quiet Mode is enabled, you can mute all notifications from the Facebook app and even see a warning when you try to open the app. For instance, if you have Quiet Mode enabled and you open the Facebook app, you’ll see a splash screen telling you that the feature is enabled with a countdown to when it will turn off....

FOX renews both Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers for new seasons. In the lead-up to this year’s upfronts, all the major broadcast networks have been canceling (and picking up) TV shows at an alarming rate. FOX has been one of the most active networks when it comes to cancellations, having canned shows such as Lucifer and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. (However, NBC eventually picked up Brooklyn Nine-Nine for season 6.) Still, FOX’s fall lineup won’t be entirely filled with new shows....

Back in 2020, Facebook announced a new shopping experience for its users called “Facebook Live Shopping” so that people could shop directly from live streams on the social network. However, the company announced on Wednesday that Facebook Live Shopping is being discontinued. Facebook is testing the ability to cross post Facebook Stories to Instagram, a new report from TechCrunch explains. You’ve long been able to cross post Instagram Stories to Facebook, but now the company is taking things the opposite direction. The feature, which is in public testing, was first discovered by Jane Manchun Wong, who regularly discovers new social networking features ahead of their release. The feature is accessible to testers via the Story Privacy settings page in the Facebook app, where you’ll find a new “Share Story to Instagram” toggle....
